Expedite 3D Video Demo
Windows Media Player - WMV format
A 40-minute Video Demo of Expedite 3D is available for Download and viewing
locally using Windows Media Player. (Ver 9 or later - Ver 7 will not work)
The Demo is intended to provide a general overview of Expedite 3D's
Design, Manufacturing, and Verification capabilities, and shows how the
system may be used, from initial part geometry design, thru
manufacturing and machining steps, thru visual verification, and thru final
Post Processing to produce an RS274 'tape'.
Please note that for truly learning about E3D, the Video Demo should not
be thought of as a substitute for downloading the Trial Software, the
Manual, and going thru the complete Tutorial contained within the
system.
In order to keep the file download a reasonable size (121 MB)
for a 40-minute video, the video must necessarily be compressed, resulting
in a loss of screen detail - particularly on the display images. Because of
this, many find resizing to approximately 1/4 to 1/3 of your full
screen size makes the demo easier to view.
None-the-less, the audio step-by-step comments by the demonstrator, in
combination with the menu commands he uses for each step, does provide a
good overview of Expedite 3D's broad range of capabilities.
Download the E3D Windows Media WMV file by right-clicking and choosing
'Save Target As' from HERE.
If your connection is fast enough, you may also be able to simply
left-click, and after buffering, Windows Media should start to play the
demo.
Please note a typical 1.5 mbps download internet connection (Cable, DSL)
will take about 20 minutes to download. If you are on dial-up, you might
start the download before retiring for the night. It should be completed
next morning.
Though the demonstrator was using the Windows NT version of E3D, the
current E3D version has been recompiled specifically for Windows 2000 and
Windows XP - the currently supported Windows versions.
Finally, if you find the video interesting but not 'complete', you might
consider downloading and installing the Trial Software on your computer.
Then start the video in a small window - and E3D in a larger window. Then
while watching and listening to the video, try to follow along in the Trial
Software (pausing the video as necessary) by duplicating the steps shown in
the demonstration. Such 'doing' always conveys more learning than simply
watching. And while you may not duplicate everything exactly correctly, you
will certainly get a more complete feel for the product than by simply
watching alone.
