Software Magic, Inc., provider of the
IntelliPost family of N/C Post Processor products, announces a new addition
- IntelliPost 2000.Developed specifically to ease the effort
and reduce the learning curve involved in creating N/C Post Processors, IntelliPost
2000 , (IP2000) is a true 32 bit "new from the
ground up" Post Processor development environment.
IntelliPost 2000 is
a fully enabled Win32 compatible application that is designed to be fully
compatible with the current Microsoft Windows9x and Windows NT 4.0 & 5.0
operating systems. IP2000 uses the Data Access Objects (DAO) approach for
internal storage and retrieval of postprocessor configuration information.
This makes it fit effortlessly into modern client/server networks that allow
manufacturing engineers to have common, simultaneous access to their
company's complete postprocessor library and share development information
quickly.
IP2000 was written using Microsoft VC++ 5.0
and NMC 4.2. IP2000 also takes early advantage of the new controls and
interface styles announced for Internet Explorer 4.0, Windows9x, and Windows
NT 5.0. The result is the latest "look and feel" - very much like
Microsoft Office97 and other up to date applications. The quick select
toolbars, helpful "tool tips", intuitive property sheets, status
bars, and standard common Windows function dialogs are used to quickly lead
the user through the Post configuration process.
IP2000 also includes IntelliPost 2000
Wizard. The Wizard guides a first time Post Writer through the Post
configuration process screen by screen and step by step. In ten (10) easy
steps the IP2000 user can create a complete "PP.dat" (Post
Processor Definition) file for his machine and control. This PP.dat is then
ready for use with any IntelliPost Post Processor Execution Engine (PPEE) V.
5.x, - on any supported platform - Unix Workstation, Minicomputer,
Mainframe, or P.C.
IP2000 is designed to complement the
current IntelliPost configuration tool - PPGEN (Pos tProcessor Generator).
PPGEN, a parameter driven system, is in use by thousands of customers
worldwide generating Posts. IP2000 produces the exact same format PP.dat
file as does PPGEN. This allows Posts developed in PPGEN to be imported and
modified in IP2000, and for Posts developed in IP2000 to be imported and
modified in PPGEN.
Customers can thereby leverage the PPGEN
experience of their veteran postprocessor designers who can continue to use
their original parameter-based PPGEN tools or easily switch to the IP2000.
New designers or others who develop postprocessors infrequently can take
full advantage of the Windows standard graphical user interface and IntelliPost
Wizard.
We've talked a lot with our customers Many
of them are very, very proficient with the classic PPGEN software and don't
see an immediate need to change, but others are becoming insistent on
getting a desktop solution that fits with their new CAD and CAM design
software. With the IP2000 now available, we can serve both groups."
And that's the important thing - you now
have a choice. Even better, you really don't have to choose at all, since
PPGEN and IP2000 results are fully interchangeable. And both use the
time-proven industry standard IntelliPost Postprocessor Execution Engine.
