If you have a mortgage, your lender will require you to have home insurance to protect their investment. Many lenders set up an escrow account, where part of your monthly mortgage payment goes toward your home insurance premium. The lender then pays the insurance company directly from this account each year.

A standard homeowners insurance policy typically includes coverage for the structure of your home, personal belongings, and liability in case of injury on your property.

Flood

Standard homeowners insurance policies DO NOT cover flood damage. While flood insurance may be required in some circumstances, it’s wise to consider coverage no matter where you live, because flooding can happen anywhere.

Flood Insurance covers your home and belongings against water damage (such as storm surge) from hurricanes, tropical storms, and heavy rains, which aren’t included in standard policies.

The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) is a federal program managed by FEMA that provides flood insurance to property owners, renters, and businesses in specific communities. Coverage usually begins 30 days after purchase, and rate are determined by FEMA’s guidelines.

Our Flood Insurance offers lower rates and more robust coverage compared to the NFIP. There’s no waiting period and only one deductible per occurrence!

American Integrity’s Flood Insurance is available for homes, condos, rental properties, vacant properties, and seasonal residences.

There’s no waiting period! Your Flood coverage goes into effect immediately when you purchase through American Integrity.

Claims

You can file a claim with American Integrity by calling our 24/7 claims line at 1-866-277-9871 or filing online through our Customer Portal. If you have tropical storm or hurricane-related damage, please call 844-MYAIIC1 (844-692-4421).

Check your policy documents (you can view these online by logging into our Customer Portal for specific coverage details). You can also contact your agent to clarify what types of damage are covered under your policy. Typically, your policy covers damage from perils like fire, windstorms, and theft, but may exclude others like flooding unless you have additional coverage.

You can check the status of your claim by logging into our Customer Portal or by contacting your assigned adjuster directly.

Our goal after a claim is submitted is to contact the insured within the same business day. The overall timeline depends on the complexity of the claim and the volume of claims filed.

Following a major storm, American Integrity responds to claims based on severity. Once customers who have been displaced from their homes receive assistance, adjusters will contact policyholders according to the level of damage their home has sustained.

As a Florida homeowner, you have rights outlined in the Homeowner Claims Bill of Rights, including timely communication from your insurer, the right to a detailed estimate, and a prompt resolution of claims. Click here to view the full Homeowner Claims Bill of Rights.

You’ll need your policy number, a detailed description of the damage, photos or videos of the damage, and any receipts or estimates for repairs. Keeping a home inventory can also help speed up the process.

If you are an American Integrity policyholder, contact us immediately if your home is uninhabitable. We can help arrange temporary housing and cover additional living expenses if your policy includes Additional Living Expenses coverage.

Reach out to your adjuster if you need assistance selecting a contractor. American Integrity has partnered with a network of contractors that can assist with all types of repairs, including temporary accommodations, tarping, water mitigation, tree removal, and more.

Unfortunately, contractors who lack integrity often try to take advantage of homeowners by inflating repair costs, promising quick fixes, and offering to relieve you of the “burden” or “hassle” of dealing with your insurance company. Before agreeing to any repairs, contact American Integrity to report the damage. We'll send a licensed adjuster to assess whether the repair is covered under your policy.
